Christmas is a comin'...

I can't believe it! I've just returned from Christmas shopping and I'm in my right mind. Maybe it was the company, the location - or the fact we only bought calendars and stocking fillers. There are aweful places to be avoided this time of year - Leeds, Manchester etc and anywhere with a M&S. TESCO disappointed me as well yesterday - the front of their free Christmas mag proclaimed it contained numerous ways to impress this Christmas. Funny, Christmas isn't about impressing anybody it's about humility, grace, a Free Gift that was beyond price. I don't want to impress anybody this Christmas I'd just rather bow, worship and say 'thank you'

Winter is a coming fast and last Saturday saw the first snow in the dale - although the picture is from last year. Time brings change and no-one can forecast what that will be. But there is One constant who is forever.
Last Saturday I was in the kitchen early morning aware of those dear to me whose burdens I seek to carry. The One told me to put them down, if only for a while, and know that He loved me. I take them again but I know his encouragement is sound, deep and eternal "we love because he first loved us"
